Sconces are really great, easy light fixtures because they don’t take up any floor space, you can mount them above other things like tables or beds or stairs, and they can add a ton of personality. For the Miller House, we’re looking to add a sconce on either side of the two-story fireplace, above built-in shelves. I’ve been on the hunt for some modern, black sconces that will pair nicely with the black hardware we’re considering for the kitchen. On my search, I’ve come across a PLETHORA of excellent black sconces that I’d happily use in my own space. For your shopping ease, I’ve linked them all below, following some lovely black sconce inspiration.
The possibilities, they are simply endless. I gravitate toward more modern sconces, especially for matte black, but certainly love some funky edge here and there. Sconces are kind of like room jewelry.
Okay, let’s get to the roundup. These range widely in price and style, but I really love them all! For the built-in shelves at the Miller House family room, we’ll go with a cone shape to direct the light. But hey, it’s a big world out there — here are some killer black sconces for every occasion.
So many sconces, so little time. (and money, and walls to adorn…) I hope you’ve found something you like to save for later or use in your own home or project. What kind of roundups are you looking for? Hint: tell me what you’re looking for and I’ll do the leg work of finding a bunch of different versions of that thing for a range of budgets :) Leave a comment and let me know what you’d like to see next!
